Employment law is one of those areas which is constantly being updated and so if you are an employer in particular, it is important that you receive regular advice on these changes and that you review and amend your contracts of employment and staff handbooks accordingly.

Over the last year for instance, we have seen the increase in maternity leave and pay from 1st April 2007, regardless of length of service; the introduction of smoking bans on the 1st July 2007; the increase in statutory annual leave entitlement and a further increase in the National Minimum Wage on the 1st October 2007.
